Tips for Surviving off the Grid, Off the Radar

We live in a state of perpetual surveillance. That is, unless you happen to commit a murder in Las Vegas, where, oddly, 2,000 security cameras cannot capture your actions…

For the rest of us, it might be nice to have a plan for breaking free of it all – really going off the grid and away from all the prying eyes.

Mahatma Muhjesbude from Survivopedia brings you a list of tips for staying under cover. Read this regardless of whether you plan to disappear. You might find some of these helpful in “ordinary” life.

In modern America, reality is not what you might think. Thus the need to prep and plan for alternatives. We, even preppers to a degree, have allowed ourselves to be sucked into the matrix.

Says Muhjesbude:

“First, I hope everybody realizes, or at least most Liberty minded Patriots, that if you want absolute, complete privacy from any kind of government or private sector intrusion, it simply doesn’t exist anymore. Nada, Zippo, Zero, No Mas! And all of YOU, my beloved, let them get away with it!

This is because the so-called ‘Grid’ is now everywhere. The Grid is now life itself! Therefore it stands to reason, if one desires to indulge in the solace of private seclusion, one must first escape the dreaded Grid itself? Unfortunately, there isn’t anywhere to go… where the grid ain’t.”

So, what can you do. He has some good ideas:

He mentions the possibility of permanently relocating to the middle of the jungle – forever and with no contact or modern … anyting. Not what most people are willing or capable of doing.

Then there’s:

Letting the government “disappear” you. First you have to make them really mad. Then … nevermind. Not such a good option.

Consider:

Not being a target in the first place. Play along and act the part and, even if they could find you, they probably won’t be looking.

Lower your traceability.

This can be hard. Get off Facebook and unplug from the mainstream computer/communications world.

Live off the grid and out of the way.

Cut the phone, electric, and water ties to the world. Pick somewhere remote. This is also hard – hard to set up and hard to live with.

Create an alternate identity.

This could be a corporation or a trust. You can still be traced but it takes a lot of effort. This is how many celebrities protect their identities from the public.

Stop playing. Start Doing.

The most important step to to get started with whatever you’re going to try. The longer you wait the longer you live in the open police state. A time may come when it will be absolutely too late to even think about this stuff. Now is the time. At least get a plan together.

Please read the original for all the cogent thoughts and examples. It is a daunting subject for sure. But it may represent the last, ultimate means of escaping the modern madness. Check it out.

Completely disappearing from modern society is almost impossible. I think it is still a remote possibility but would require extreme actions – beyond rather difficult. If you can stand the inconveniences and absolutely have to do it – then you could still it. Just say goodbye to everything in your life and head to the woods of northern Canada – fun…

Otherwise, just file this information away for a later, SHTF kind of day. Or, use bits and pieces to assist with daily op-sec.
