Why are These American Cities So Dangerous?

Preppers know people are a mixed bag. They’re great sometimes, some of them, most of them, but others can be crazy, lazy, and downright dangerous. And, the more people you have around, the more dangerous they are. That’s why cities are widely considered – and rightly so – hotbeds of violence and bad behavior. They never made an Escape From … movie about any rural town in Nebraska, you know.

Daisy Luther has some shocking facts about our cities and violence at The Organic Prepper site. Please read the original and think hard about what this means. This is shocking information. And, one will note, it has little to do with Americans’ love of guns and nothing to do with the NRA. Please consider these facts and think about how they affect you and yours.

Some of our cities are on a dubious list.

“When you think of the most dangerous, violent cities in the world, do you picture slums in Third World countries with vicious drug cartels or arrogant warlords? Maybe the kind of violence where enemies are decapitated and whole families are murdered seem like things that happen far away in some terrifying, exotic locale.

Some of this is true – but FIVE of the world’s most violent cities are right here on the American mainland and another is in an American territory. The list was created by researchers of anti-violence think-tank Seguridad, Justicia Y Paz (Security, Justice, and Peace), who made their rankings based on statistics of homicides per 100,000 residents.”

It’s only five but that says something about our exceptional, first world, modern nation, does it not? And, there are plenty of other US cities that didn’t make the list that can’t be too far off the mark. Most towns have areas where you drive faster with the windows up and doors locked.

The “Top Five” are:

St. Louis, No. 13

Baltimore, No. 21

San Juan, No. 33, Yes Part of America (for now)

New Orleans, No. 41

Detroit, No. 42

Daisy explores how these cities came to be on the list. Please read those reasons. In short – they have too much violent crime.

St. Louis, for instance, had a 2017 murder rate of 65.83 out of every one hundred thousand people. That’s third world-ish.

Read about each town and their collective troubles with crime, the reasons why they are on the list, why they’re places you might not want to live – or visit.

Now, here’s Daisy’s list of the top 12 dangerous cities in the world:

Los Cabos, Mexico
Caracas, Venezuela
Acapulco, Mexico
Natal, Brasil
Tijuana, Mexico
La Paz, Mexico
Fortaleza, Brazil
Victoria, Mexico
Guayana, Mexico
Belem, Brazil
Vitória da Conquista, Brazil
Culicacan, Mexico

She list the top 50 but those first few are the ones ahead of any of our cities. Notice anything about them?

They are, for the vast part, located in countries and places from which our liberal “betters” currently seek to import natives from. It’s the melting pot – which happens to be itself melting from the heat of all the violence, idiocy, and incompatibility. Even dear old Ronald Reagan assured us that anyone can come to America and become an American.

Unfortunately, Gipper, that’s not exactly true. Under current law, just about anyone can come here, but it seems the Americanization is elusive. Turns out they bring their problems, like violence, with them. There is no magic dirt under our green grass.

And, these are the same liberal “elites” who happen to run places like … St. Louis, Baltimore, San Juan, New Orleans, and Detroit. And Chicago, Atlanta, Newark, etc., etc., etc. Show me a city with a violence problem and I’ll show you a liberal democrat administration. Progressive planning at its finest. This is the best they can do.

And those five America cities, and the one’s behind and below them, have other things in common. I’m sure you can easily think of a few. But, again, none of this has anything to do with real Americans and their weaponry.

Yet the liberals solution, beside raising taxes on you and me, is to disarm us. It’s a simple narrative from the simple-minded: criminals commit crime; thus, import and foster more criminals; wait for the crimes; blame guns; blame the NRA; blame Americans; raise a ruckus among the emotional and lower-IQ set; ban guns; embrace full communism.

That’s about it. In addition to planning on how we individually deal with life in the big city (looking at you, urban preppers), we need to always keep an eye on Washington, Lincoln, Atlanta, and Tallahassee. The real criminals may not be on the streets.

Good on Ms. Luther for opening up the discussion. Beware of where you are and of your surroundings. Don’t become a list-building statistic!

Okay, now that you’re thinking about the third world nature of some US cities,

It’s a little dated but seems to fit with Daisy’s compilation.

Cities have a lot of good things to offer. But they also have their dangerous sides. Think and plan accordingly.
