We’ve had plenty of stories about guns, gun owners, and gun control this year. If it seems like a busy time, it was. And make no mistake, 2016 was a great year for the Second Amendment and for you.
Rob Morse wrote up a list of accomplishments for the year at Ammo Land. Please check out his Guns News 2016 article. It is downright inspirational. Here are some monthly highlights:
2016: Year Of The Gun!
Missouri passed open carry.
Guns sales kept increasing nationwide, even in “anti” gun states.
Gun control cities are violent.
“The most violent cities in the world, and the most violent cities in the U.S., all embrace gun control. US cities ranked among the 50 most dangerous. St Louis, Baltimore, and Detroit come in at numbers 15, 19, and 28.”
West Virginia passed Constitutional Carry.
Idaho passed constitutional carry for state residents.
“In a unanimous eight to zero decision, the US Supreme Court extended the Heller and McDonald decision to arms that are not firearms. The court told the Massachusetts supreme court that the right to bear arms extends to arms that were not in existence at the time of the founding. That includes knives and stun guns.”
“A federal district judge overturned the last gun ban in the US. The Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands lost it’s prohibition of handguns in federal court. The court found their gun laws violated the individual right to possess a handgun or other firearm for self-defense as guaranteed by the Second and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.”
Mississippi effectively legislated Constitutional Carry.
Obama’s “Fast and Furious” was fully exposed as massive corruption.
More and more corrupt, anti-gun politicians keep going to jail.
The NRA endorsed Donald Trump for President.
Republican legislators defeated the “no-fly” gun bill.
Donald J. Trump was nominated for president by the Republican party.
Texas voted to allow carry on college campuses.
More politicians went to jail.
America’s culture is gun culture. CCW permits continue to grow in numbers.
Arizona allows guns at some schools.
In a Gallup poll, 76% rejected a ban on handguns.
As our trust in guns grows, trust in the media falls.
Donald J. Trump won the US presidential election in an electoral landslide. Republicans retained control of the House and Senate. Hillary will not get to impose her gun control ideas.
The Pentagon approved soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guard personnel to carry privately owned firearms on DoD property.
Kansas moves to allow carry on campuses.
Ohio expanded concealed carry provisions.

Many, many thanks to Mr. Morse for putting this list together. And, here’s to hoping that 2017 will bring even more freedom to the firearms public. Let’s keep the trend going!
