In One Second After, William Forstchen painted a frightening picture of life after the apocalypse. He depicted brutal survival after an Electromagnetic Pulse attack on the United States. That was a convincing novel but still a work of fiction. However, could something of such horrible magnitude actually happen? At least one expert thinks so.
Retired Green Beret Jeremiah Johnson* posted a stern warning for Americans at SHTF Plan. Johnson believes some form of calamity is highly likely if not imminent. He warns that “World Governments Are Preparing For Disaster And War”. If the governments (in the know) are concerned, perhaps the rest of us should be too.
The One Second After Scenario
“As written in previous articles, it is my firm conviction that we will be involved in a World War that will be initiated by an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) weapon detonated over the continental United States.”
An EMP would render useless many electronic devices, from clocks and radios to automobiles and appliances. The power grid itself is extremely vulnerable. If large enough portions of the grid come down, the U.S. could be almost instantly reduced to pre-industrial status.
Johnson is not the only man voicing these dire concerns. Leaders, both political and military, in Europe are considering drastic measures to counter this type of threat.
“We must give priority to security, so let’s start setting up a joint European army.”
– Viktor Orban
A European army is a radical proposal. And the warnings are not limited to Europe. Even Hussein Obama is sounding off about ominous and shadowy threats.
Obama recently cautioned Americans must consider “having an evacuation plan,” and “having a fully-stocked disaster supply kit.” If this issue has the golfer-in-chief’s attention, then it must be serious.
Johnson points out that North Korea is testing new ballistic missiles. Johnson says that with these missiles Kim Jong Un has “the ability to launch an EMP strike against the United States.”
King Jong may be as serious as he is crazy: “The US vicious nuclear threat and blackmail against the DPRK only resulted in bolstering up its nuclear attack capability hour by hour and the US mainland and the operational theatre in the Pacific are now within the striking range of the KPA, no matter how hard the US tries to deny it.”
The North Korean threat is but one of many. And an EMP is only one of a dozen or more threats that could bring virtual armageden to America. Many experts, says Johnson, think a Hillary Clinton version of World War III might be inevitable should the classified cougher become president. It is possible this could happen with Russia. Hillary might be capable of setting us back a generation – to the Cold War. Or, she could do much worse.
Perhaps most alarming is the short time which Johnson suggests Americans have to prepare. Those who are not getting ready now run the risk of being too late.
These are truly frightening revelations. However, knowledge is power. We owe Johnson a debt of gratitude for bringing to light these issue, as unpleasant as they may seem. By knowing there is a problem, we may be able to take proper precautions.
What should you do? The answer is simple: keep prepping. And be prepared to work harder than you ever have before. If you read One Second After, you know that survival is possible, if people take action. If you haven’t read the novel, please consult Amazon immediately.
A war, especially a nuclear war, is something nobody wants. It is, however, a possibility in our mad modern world. Other scenarios are even more probable. Yet, you can weather any of these disasters. Preparation, awareness, and faith are the keys.
