Was There Undue Election Influence?

The CIA, the FBI, and the ODNI have reached divergent conclusions about whether Russia hacked into or otherwise attempted to steer the American general election. Lawmakers from both parties have called for a Congressional investigation. President-elect Trump suggested the interest, now, is solely due to Hillary Clinton’s loss.

For their part, the Russians demand proof, which at this time appears specious at best.

The Bull Market

Following Trump’s victory, equity markets have surged to new highs in recent weeks. Some point to his claim of making America great again. Others see last minute value grabbing and manipulation by the elite. Either way, the DOW appears headed to 20,000. The question is when. Could it happen today? And, if so, are you poised to benefit?

Interest Rates

For only the second time in ten years the Federal Reserve has signaled it will raise key interest rates. A rate hike is forecast over three events in 2017, said Janet Yellen. While reactions are mixed, most economist agree this move is overdue. The markets seem to like the prospect.

Crying Wolf

Liberals continue to hound the Electoral College system, their recount efforts having failed. A band of second-rate idiot celebrities produced another video this week. In it, they tell Electors to vote for anyone other than Trump. For this coup to succeed, 37 Electors would have to jump ship. The election would then pass to the House of Representatives. More B and C-listers would likely make another video for that occasion.

Justice

Dylan Roof was found guilty by a jury yesterday. He was convicted of all counts stemming from his murder of 9 people last year at a black church in Charleston, South Carolina. The jury will reconvene after Christmas to decide his fate. He faces either life in prison or the death penalty.

Disney’s Force

Another Star Wars movie opens today. Reviews and reactions are mixed on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The movie tells the tale of rebels who stole the plans to the Death Star. It is set immediately prior to the events of the original 1977 film. I will likely see Rogue One (I see all Star Wars movies). However, I’m just not looking forward to this one like I did the others. Call it the “Disney effect”.

Christmas Is Coming!
