Prepare Today For Economic Collapse Tomorrow

Prepare Today For Economic Collapse Tomorrow

In today’s outside video adventure, City Prepping tells us How to Survive an Economic Collapse. As this is a near-certainty in 2021 America, this one is worth paying careful attention to. Before we watch, here’s a quick summary and a few thoughts.

Economic Collapse Presages Societal Collapse

(Pics captured from CP video).

Any economic turmoil, from a personal job loss to a mild recession, can be bad. But, when everything falls apart … everything falls apart. When people have no money and no means of continuing to live normally, they become desperate. Desperate people do … you know the rest. A full collapse, or even a substantial partial collapse, of the national and/or international economy, will mean (will, not might) violence, crime, hunger, and even war. Now is the time to prepare.

KNOWING

The first step to understanding and surviving a collapse is knowing about it. The general principle is that to solve any problem, one has to know what it is first.

Thus, it pays attention to pay attention to news sources. Be mindful that many or most of these in the Western world are rigged and deceitful. Still, information is out there. And it will tend to sync with one’s own personal experience and knowledge. A plug for our team, here: the Prepper Post News is an excellent source for daily or weekly updates on what’s happening with money and everything else. Please note that we are biased – in favor of civilization. (No apologies).

Also, study history. Economic patterns repeat themselves like all others. In our post-modern (fake) economy, the previous patterns of events for at least the previous 100 years have been driven by the exact same stupid people who control the economy today. They are lazy and lack innovation. Knowing what they did in 2008, 2001, 1931, or 1921 will help predict what they’re doing in 2021. The cycles of expansion, contraction, and collapse are near-universal across all times and regions.

Example: South Africa

In many ways, SA is a great indicator of where America is going.

Even today, on the surface, it is a modern-looking, seemingly normal place. But…

Just below the surface, the entire country and society are fully disintegrating. PC does a great job explaining why and how poverty, distribution disruption, and more factors create instability that leads to certain economic decline.

Once these factors advance far enough, all hell breaks loose.

And the USA is not that far at all away from these kinds of scenes. In fact, if we’re honest, for over a year now, we have seen them play out from Atlanta to New York to Minneapolis to LA. We’re a larger nation with greater resources; yet and still, the strain is already felt. Things will not hold together much longer.

Inflation

Running through the signs and symptoms of decline, CP covers price increases. By the time a consumer notices these changes at the store, the damage is largely already done. You already know this from your weekly shopping trips, right?

On the other side is deflation. Prices going up and down, for a thousand reasons, are normal – until they’re not. Once the system itself is sufficiently corrupted or destroyed, the swings become wild, unpredictable, and highly dangerous. Either way, the last thing that ever seems to keep pace just happens to be the amount of money you have or earn.

Survival

One. Can. Left.

Some say that can’t happen here, but the truth is, it can and it already has. You have seen the weather, riots, pandemic madness, and other crazy events empty out large sections of the grocery stores and other shops. Sometimes it seems to happen overnight. If you need something – really need it – and it’s no longer there, then you’ve just found yourself at the edge of the desperation I mentioned earlier. Pleasant feeling?

Watch and listen to CP’s advice on what you can do to avoid or mitigate these certain changes of uncertainty. There is much one can do – but one must start doing.

It is time to break with dependence. This doesn’t necessarily mean ending convenience while convenience is still an option. It means knowing that the options probably won’t be around tomorrow.

Learn to make do and to do for yourself. In other words, keep on prepping. Food storage and food production come to mind. That, of course, only covers eating. All areas of your life need a reliance plan.

And one thing to count on is that there won’t be any magic help to count on when things get rough. The governments and corporations that so many people expect will help during bad times are the exact same entities that caused the bad times. If you wouldn’t expect a murderer to be concerned about your health, then don’t expect economic assistance from those who bring economies into collapse.

Now, Perrin’s preaching finished,

14 Must Haves to Build the Ultimate Apocalypse Survival Kit

Published

on

Civil unrest, a virus pandemic, a nuclear fallout- these are all real emergency situations. Are you prepared for any of these disastrous events? It does not hurt to have an apocalypse survival kit, even if your family and friends think you’re nuts.

To survive in apocalyptic circumstances, you need to stock up on several essential items like food, water, fire starters, etc. Apart from the necessities, you need to think about water purification, first aid, shelter, and even electricity. When shopping for survival items, consider the space, weight, and quality of the products.

Before we jump into our list, watch this video, it goes over some very important items to have in your apocalypse survival kit as well. There may be some cross over on their list and ours, but when the SHTF you’re gonna want as much as possible to help you survive.

Here are 14 must-have apocalypse survival kit items:

1.Potassium Iodide.

In case of a nuclear war, getting melted in the blast is the biggest danger. If you are lucky enough to survive, you still need to take care of the nuclear fallout. This is lingering radioactive material that suspends in the atmosphere. It puts you and your loved ones at risk for cancer. Radioactive iodine is a component in a nuclear fallout. It is gets absorbed by the thyroid, causing thyroid cancer. Potassium iodide will protect you from this risk.

Once you are exposed, start taking the pills immediately. This non-radioactive iodine salt will stop the absorption of radioactivity.

2. Non-Perishable Food.

To ready yourself for an emergency, stock up on nutrient-dense foods with long shelf lives. Good examples to include in your apocalypse survival kit are:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned fish, chicken, or any other protein source
  • Canned vegetables and fruits
  • Beef or fish jerky
  • Brown rice
  • Coffee/tea
  • Trail mix
  • Energy bars
  • MREs or meals ready to eat.

Peanut butter is an excellent choice because it contains carbs, proteins, and fats. A single MRE contains approximately 3,000 calories, which is enough energy to last you for two days. In fact, most people can survive on a single MRE per day. Having only two of these items can help you survive for a few days. Yes, you might get bored with eating peanut butter and canned fish for ten days, but it’s better than starving to death.

3. Pulaski Axe.

This is an axe affixed to a long handle. It will come in handy when you need to build a shelter, breakthrough a barricade, or even chop food for a fire. A Pulaski axe is the top tool of choice to include in your apocalypse survival kit. This tool features a hoe on one side and an axe on the other. This axe is perfect for digging, chopping, and prying.

4. Water Purification Supplies.

During a war or civil unrest, the water infrastructure in your city may get disrupted or destroyed. You will have to find clean sources of drinking water. It’s difficult to survive without water after two days. If you reside in the city, set aside a gallon of water per person. In case you live in the wilderness, you will require a water purification device. There are many versions of this ranging from battery-operated devices to water jugs with built-in filters.

5. First Aid Supplies

When the world is in turmoil, the last thing you want to experience is an injury. A first-aid kit is an absolute must in your apocalypse survival kit. You can get a ready-made kit or make it yourself. Create a first-aid kit with the following items:

  • Loose gauze
  • Bandages
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Backup supply of prescription meds
  • Allergy medications
  • Pain relievers
  • Antibacterial ointments

Be sure to keep tabs on the expiration dates. Replace them as required.

6. Fire Starter.

Fire is an essential survival item. You will need it to cook, boil drinking water, generate heat, and even ward of wild animals. A box of match sticks can get wet and even damaged, but a fire starter will last for a long time. Look for a fire starter that can last for more than a month.

7. Gun.

You will need a gun for self-defense. Although they are very powerful, avoid using it as a primary weapon. Guns are very loud. They are great to scare off wild animals and even zombies! You can use it to hunt for food if your stock reserve runs out.  Keep a decent stash of ammunition with you but not too much that it takes up too much space. In a survival situation, you want to be as stealthy as possible. Gun use should be your last resort.

8. Camping Stove with Liquid Fuel.

Although it’s fun eating trail mix and peanut butter for the first few days, you will crave a hot bowl of soup or coffee at some point. A camping stove can help in these situations. Choose a stove that works with different liquid fuels such as diesel, kerosene, naphtha, and unleaded gasoline.

9. Rucksack.

This is a vital piece to include in your apocalypse survival kit. Invest in a high-quality, lightweight rucksack. Keep in mind that it is spacious and weatherproof. It must have enough space to stash all your apocalypse items. A good rucksack also supports mobility. You should be comfortable lugging it around on your back. Good quality rucksacks are also ergonomically designed. It shouldn’t feel painful to carry.

10. Rope.

Don’t even think about ignoring this apocalypse survival kit item. The funny thing is, when you think about buying rope, you’ll think you don’t want it. However, in tough situations, you’ll regret not having it. What can a bit of rope do? You can use a rope to set a trap to catch a game, tie a hammock, hang up food in a tree, away from animals, and even to dry your clothes. The strong rope has many uses which come to light in need.

11. Knife.

Life rope, the knife is an absolute have to include in your apocalypse survival kit. You can use a knife to cut meat and vegetables, or even as a tool. This gear serves as a good weapon and a tool. A top quality knife can spell the difference between surviving and dying.

Choose a knife that is durable and sharp. It should be a good length so that you can use it to cut, skin, and hunt. Ensure the knife has a protective sheath. This is important because you might accidentally cut your fingers on it, which is detrimental during a disaster.

12. Shelter.

When you are trying to thrive in a survival situation, protection from the elements becomes necessary. You can opt for something very simple like a tarp or sleeping bag. For better protection from the elements, consider a tent or Bivi bag. Other sound options include a foil blanket or a Bothy bag.

13. Personal Documents.

It is always a good idea to keep your personal documents within reach, especially if you are facing a potential Armageddon. Keep copies of birth certificates, driver’s licenses, family passports, social security cards, and other legal documents. In addition, keep a record of important phone numbers such as your:

  • Insurance company
  • Bank
  • Relatives and Friends

14. Compass.

A compass is an absolute necessity in your apocalypse survival kit. An analog compass should be lightweight and easy to use. Be sure you know how to use a compass beforehand. Consider taking an orienteering class beforehand so that you know how to use this classic survivor’s tool.

Are you ready for a natural disaster? Our apocalypse survival kit checklist will help you get there.

How to Have Potable Water Anywhere

Published

on

Water is an essential source of life for everyone, and we cannot live without it, even if we try. Unfortunately, drinking water is pretty scarce nowadays, and finding new ways to produce and source drinking water is posing a challenge. Even while the ocean is said to be the biggest reservoir for water, that water is salted, and we cannot drink it. Freshwater bodies and underground water levels are fast depleting because of our careless use of water. So we need to find new ways to access drinking water anywhere, be it the desert, the ocean, or even a hotel.

In an emergency, apart from food, water is also essential and should be your top priority. Be sure that the water you find is safe to drink, otherwise, you may need to disinfect the water so it is potable. While it is true that the human body cannot survive without water for more than three days, you also do not want to fall ill and contract illnesses from drinking unclean water. Good news for you, there are many water sources that you can find like rivers, lakes, ponds, or small streams while you are backpacking, hiking, or are in an emergency scenario. There are multiple ways to make the water clean enough and safe enough for you to drink.

  1. Finding water

You have to find water before you start the disinfection process. Depending on where you are and what situation you are in, water can either be found with ease or with much difficulty. As mentioned above, there are freshwater resources like streams, ponds, rivers, and lakes from which you can fill your container or bottle. Rainwater can also be collected in case there are no water sources nearby. Snow can be melted for drinking and made to go through the filtration process. There are many ways to supply yourself with water. You just have to be creative enough to think like a survivalist.

  1. The boiling method

Boiling water is often considered the best route to safe drinking water. This method kills all kinds of parasites, bacteria, and viruses that are in the water. Boiling water for a minimum of five minutes kills almost every bacteria but aim for boiling it for 10 – 15 minutes to be on the safe side.

Boiling water can be a simple process if you have all the materials. It can be done over a campfire or on a gas stove in a metal or glass container. If no such container is available, heat small rocks over a fire and then place them in your makeshift container.

  1. Survival straws

Survival straws have recently come into the market and they are already making waves. They are said to be the smallest, lightest water filtration tool that has been so efficient. These straws can be used as drinking straws and, since they are small and lightweight, are much preferred and recommended by hikers, travelers, and even survivalists who prepare for an emergency or survival scenarios.

They filter out 99.99% of bacteria and they also have a built-in activated carbon filter element that, while filtering out bacteria and viruses, also removes strange flavors and smells from the water.

  1. Water filters

Usage of portable water purification devices is another popular method people use to purify the water before drinking, especially if you know beforehand that you will not find a reliable source of drinking water where you are traveling. These water filters are made specifically to treat water while on hikes, expeditions, or in a survival situation.

Many of these water filters, while handy and portable, do require pumping the water by hand which, in hindsight, can require a lot of exertion and energy loss. But these will give you much cleaner drinking water and hence, are preferred.

  1. Using iodine

Iodine is used to treat water and is another method by which you can disinfect your water before drinking. To treat the water with iodine, first, purchase a bottle of iodine, and then use exactly eight drops per liter of water and wait half an hour before drinking the clean water. If the water you want to purify is dirtier, you might have to wait a little longer before drinking it, or you can also put more drops of iodine in it to make it safe.

  1. Using chlorine

Using chlorine is a method to treat water before drinking. This process is much like the process of mixing iodine with water. First, procure unscented chlorine bleach from a store. The chlorine to water ratio should be, for every one liter of water, put two drops of the chlorine bleach. Then shake the bottle and wait for 30 minutes for the chlorine to act and purify it. And then drink it. If the water is cloudier and dirtier than usual, try putting more drops of chlorine in it.

  1. Tablets

The chlorine and iodine liquid drops that were used in the above methods are also available in tablet form. These water purification tablets have become popular and the go-to for everyone because they are easy to carry, are widely available, and come with simple ready to use instructions. You just have to filter the water through a cloth, drop a tablet in 1- 2 liters of the unclean water, wait for approximately 30 minutes and there you go. Safe and clean drinking water.

Because water is a necessity for all, we must exercise caution while drinking it and not drink water directly from a natural source because it will surely be contaminated. Hence, this is the reason why water purifiers, tablets, and items such as survival straws exist. They help in the process of decontaminating the water and making it safe for you to drink.

These items are made for people and you must be aware of them and use them whenever you go out, like on a trek, hiking, or in extreme situations like in an emergency or scenarios where you have to survive in a jungle.
